Underlying our confidence is our strong heritage. In 1953, our parent, Hammond Lumber Company, began as a small sawmill built on traditional Maine values: honesty, fairness and a commitment to do every job right. Within a few years, Hammond began adding retail stores and steadily grew into one of Maine's largest suppliers of building materials.

In 1987, the company created Maine Pine Log Homes. The logs were at our fingertips, and our factory-direct buying power allowed us to put more standard features in our packages than anyone else could. This combination gave the customer unprecedented flexibility in design choices, product options and service.
