Your Maine Pine Log Home package is loaded with features, from the expected to the unexpected.
The walls consist of 6″ x 8″ D-shaped tongue & groove logs, 10″ lag bolts, and pre-cut hardwood splines. They’re sealed with weathertight foam gaskets and caulking. The main floor includes all framing and tongue & groove fir plywood sub-flooring. The second floor, if you order a two-story home, is made of exposed hemlock beams supporting tongue & groove pine decking. The roof system features a pine ceiling supported by exposed beams or rafters or trusses, according to what’s called for in your design plan. The roof insulation is fiberglass and/or rigid foam. Added to that are high-quality fir plywood sheathing, drip edges, vents, flashing, felt paper, ice & water shield, and 30-year shingles.
Now, that’s just for starters. Your package also contains stairways and pine floors. The interior doors are also pine, and the exterior doors are insulated steel or optional fiberglass or wood. All doors are pre-hung and shipped with the necessary hardware. The energy-efficient windows come with low-E insulated glass, screens, and grilles. The inside walls are paneled on both sides with tongue & groove pine, and the closets even include poles and shelves. You’ll also find all the cabinets and custom-cut countertops for the kitchen. The bathrooms include vanities with molded tops.
